SUCCESS STORIES

CONTENT MANAGEMENT

MSS was a critical link in managing the astronomical library growth of Shutterstock, the first microstock agency to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Shutterstock chose us to be its first outsourcing partner to near-single handedly curate all of its tens of thousands of daily incoming still and graphic assets. The company further deepened MSS' role in their asset ingestion chain, with the addition of a growing corps of enterprise sales support staff, as well as other content-centric back office support roles.
POST-PRODUCTION & THIRD-PARTY LICENSING

When GoPro, the world's leading manufacturer of action cameras, needed help in clipping, curating and keywording the raw video footage created by their cadre of pro athletes and brand ambassadors, MSS was their first choice. MSS was able to vertically scale a team of video editors and metadata experts, consult on a variety of areas related to third party licensing and asset discoverability, and expose this iconic brand's content to a whole new audience.
CONTENT WORKFLOW & DAM CONSULTATION

The Gap, the largest specialty retailer in the United States, and is 3rd in total international locations, called upon MSS when their board decided within a few months of each other to go bold in both China and India. We've gone vertical before, and this project demanded quick thinking and hyper-developed technical and asset workflow solutions. As a result, a scalable, highly redundant proposal was generated and presented with positive results.
PHOTO EDITING & KEYWORDING

Uber, the global carshare and delivery giant, came to MSS with an interesting proposition: Make us look amazing and ensure that we can find our photos. Uber featured drivers, riders and locations in an internal e-zine whenever new market were launched, as well as when milestones and momentous moments were reached. MSS worked hand in glove with Uber's photo production lead to adhere to their objectives. The aim was to create a lifestyle type of look that wasn't heavily manipulated or filtered. The second objective was to ensure that Uber's stakeholders could easily search, discover, manage and share all of that content. That meant a base+synonyms+plural keywording model. We developed a tight, but highly responsive list of keywords that drew heavily from their DAM search logs and thus achieved the goal.
LIBRARY MANAGEMENT & KEYWORDING

The World Wide Fund for Nature Inc. (WWF) is an international non-governmental organization that's known worldwide for its conservation work. Their library of nature photography and video is legendary, and MSS has for years been their go to resource for keywording and library cleanup. Whether it's been taxonomy development, adding discoverability to thousands of assets or bringing their B-roll library up-to-date, MSS was able to quickly engage and scale up teams of domain experts in unique areas like endangered environments and peoples, as well as nearly every animal species known to man. No task was ever out of bounds and no volume too great.
DOMAIN EXPERTISE

August and Otto Archives chose MSS to be their first line keywording experts when both agencies needed an instantly scalable team of domain experts to independently apply metadata to their ever-growing library of jaw-dropping fashion and architectural imagery. Drawing from our deep knowledge of fashion, makeup, design and color, our editors instantly gave each new collection visibility and discoverability.
